The global finance world is evolving at breakneck speed and ACCA is evolving with it. After months of consultations with employers, students, and training providers, ACCA has officially announced its most significant qualification overhaul in decades. The new structure takes effect in phases from July 2027.




ACCA 2027 Changes: What Is Changing in the Qualification?


ACCA will introduce a new qualification structure starting in July 2027. The updated structure will reduce the total number of exams from 13 papers to 11 papers and introduce subjects focused on data analytics, technology, and strategic finance skills. The goal of these changes is to align the ACCA qualification with the evolving demands of the global finance profession.

What Is Changing in 2027?

The current ACCA structure 13 papers across Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills, and Strategic Professional levels is being replaced with a streamlined 11-paper qualification across three redesigned levels:

  • Knowledge Level - 3 papers (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Business Law)
  • Expertise Level - 5 papers (Taxation, Financial Reporting, Audit Risk & Control, Finance & Investment, Performance with Data Analytics)
  • Strategic Professional Level - 3 papers (2 compulsory + 1 optional from 5 specialisations)
